1. The Rosemount 625IR is a fully-assembled unit for either direct-mount or remote-mount installations. For direct-mount installations, the Rosemount 625IR is installed in place with no other accessories needed. For remote-mount installations, the Rosemount 625IR is installed in a location determined as easily reachable with along with a Remote Gas Test Kit. This kit consists of a gas nozzle on the detector's nose, a length of sample tubing which connects to a gas test box mounted in a suitable location. When performing the gas test, the operator connects the test gas cylinder to the gas test box, and gas passes from the box in a gas pipe to the gas nozzle and into the detector.
2. The Rosemount 625IR transmitter consists of the optical sensing assembly combined with the transmitter electronics in an explosion-proof housing. The transmitter outputs are a 0-20 mA analogue signal with HART® protocol. The Rosemount 625IR is also equipped with status indication LEDs on the front of the unit.
The Rosemount 625IR is a smart detector, meaning all configuration, calibration, and gas sensing data is stored internally in the device which then generates outputs for communication with site control systems. For combustible hydrocarbon gas detection, the Rosemount 625IR detector uses infrared technology to measure combustible hydrocarbon gas using absorption spectroscopy in the infrared sensor bands.
