More Information:
The Foundation Fieldbus (FF)protocol based intelligent valve positioner employs two-wire transmission (FF bus signal). Guided Microwave Radar Transmitter is level sensor with a cable or rod probe for continuous measurement. It functions according to the TDR (time domain reflectometry) method. The probe emits high-frequency microwave pulses which are guided along a steel cable or a rod. Upon reaching the surface of the material being measured, a part of the high-frequency pulse can be reflected due to sudden change from dielectric constant. The reflected pulse returns to the unit along with a cable or rod.The distance from material to flange could be figured out by the below formula, after measuring the time-difference between transmitted pulse and reflected pulse.
