    • Ethernet-APL Tips, Tricks, and More
For the past year R. Stahl has authored a series of highlyinformative blog posts about Ethernet-APL technology. Thelatest post discusses necessary steps and simplest path forimplementing Ethernet-APL. See the entire series of six blogposts at the link below.

    • Azbil Receives the 2023 Society of Instrument andControl Engineers “Technology Award” and “NewProduct Development Award”
The award was given for "COAXIAL DISPLACEMENTSENSOR USING A LATERAL SHEAR INTERFEROMETERWITH A PHASE GRATING" - a new technology developed byAzbil for measuring the distance to an object using light.

    TECHNOLOGY

    • Ethernet-APL Adoption will Accelerate ProcessAutomation
Ethernet-APL will accelerate digital transformation throughoutthe process automation industry, because it combines high-speed digital communications with support for the uniqueneeds of industrial installations. Check out this article byFieldComm Group’s Director of Technology Programs, SeanVincent.

    FOCUS ON FDI

    • What’s a UIP?
FDI technology provides instrument suppliers with the abilityto create highly graphic, web-enabled, user interface plugins(UIPs) for their devices. Click the link to see how Emerson isusing UIPs to simplify device configuration for their radarlevel gauge instruments.

    APPLICATIONS

    • Ethernet-APL For Use in Energy Systems
An Ethernet-APL demonstration project, developed in cooperation with ABB, Phoenix Contact, Endress+Hauser and AUMA, shows that it is fully possible to apply Ethernet-APL technology using existing installed field cables.

    • Capturing Stranded Data with HART-IP
The NAMUR Open Architecture (NOA) defines many use cases to improve monitoring and optimization of process control systems and instrumentation. A requirement to implement these use cases is the ability to move HART field device information from the plant floor to higher speed networks and asset management systems.
