The FieldComm Group owns and develops the FDT/DTM specifications, overseeing advancements and enhancements that meet the automation industry's requirements. This resource library, which includes specifications and related materials, is invaluable for both automation suppliers and end-users. FieldComm Group manages all versions of the FDT specifications and related resources (brochures, technical articles), allowing suppliers the ability to provide FDT-enabled solutions for the end user community.
This document is an interface specification for developers of FDT (Field Device Tool) components for function control and data access within a client/server architecture. The specification is a result of an analysis and design process to develop standard interfaces to facilitate the development of servers and clients by multiple vendors that need to interoperate seamlessly.
The document is based on the FDT 3.0 specification and serves as style guide for the implementation of a DTM WebUI based on HTML5.
The objective is to have a similar appearance of DTM WebUIs independent of the device manufacturer to ensure a consistent user interface and behavior across all DTMs in a FDT Frame Application.
Main aspects of this document are the visual design of the user interface and the user interaction.
The user interfaces shall be displayed and usable on desktop computers, tablets and smartphones which requires a responsive web design. The human machine interactions shall be possible by device mouse, touchpad and touch screen.
This document OPC 30090 was created by a joint working group of the OPC Foundation and the FDT Group. It defines an OPC UA Information Model to represent the FDT architectural models. The OPC UA Information Model for FDT represents device information which is provided based on FDT/DTMs.
