Overview
The FB-DIAG/FF/. . . field diagnostics module (FDM) is a DIN rail mounted
instrument that provides measurements and monitoring for the physical
layer of an active Foundation Fieldbus fieldbus segment.
Critical process measurements, such as segment voltage, device count,
signal level, communication status and noise levels, can be realized on
each segment using an FDM. The use of device descriptor (DD), electronic
device description language (EDDL) and device type manager (DTM) allow
seamless integration into any control system without the need for
protocol or media conversion.
The FB-DIAG/FF/LI is for use in legacy installations or where an FB-ET is
not incorporated onto a segment. The FB-DIAG/FF/NC is for installation in
the field in conjunction with an FB-ET module via T-bus connection.
