More Information:   The Zone 1 Ex e Field Device Couplers series 9411/11 connect 4 or 8 explosion protected Ex d / Ex m FOUNDATIONTM fieldbus H1 field devices to a non-intrinsically safe / Ex e / Nonincendive fieldbus (high power trunk). A feedback effect from the spurs on the trunk is prevented in the case of short-circuits by current limiting (spur protection). The Field Device Couplers feature a power management to minimize current from the trunk: * during start-up of a fieldbus segment, the Softstart function activates the spurs one after the other resulting in a significant lower inrush current * in the event of multiple short circuits, all short circuited spurs are de-energized until the failure is eliminated. Even with multiple short circuits per coupler, the trunk is loaded with max. one short circuit current at a time. The cable shields can be connected via capacitive connections at the terminals or directly at the integrated cable screen bus bar.   The Zone 2 Ex n Field Device Couplers series 9411/34 connect 4 or 8 explosion protected ic / nL / nA FOUNDATIONTM fieldbus H1 field devices to a non-intrinsically safe / Nonincendive fieldbus (high power trunk).
