R2-SP-N* (* = 4,6,8,10,12) is a coupler for fieldbus according to IEC
61158-2 and comes in five models with different number of outputs
(spurs). Each spur individually limits a short-circuit condition ensuring
that the remaining segment is not adversely affected by a fault condition
at one spur. It's main attributes are:
* Choice of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 outputs
* T-connector on the trunk simplifies wiring multiple Segment Protectors
* Outputs certified EEx nL and Ex ic, permitting live work on the spur
* For FOUNDATION fieldbus H1 or PROFIBUS PA
* Installation in Zone 2/Class I, Div. 2
* Devices in Zone 2/Class I, Div. 2
Energy limitation Ex nL (non-incendive) or Ex ic (intrinsically safe) at
the spur is implemented with selected FieldConnex power supplies. This is
an implementation of the High-Power Trunk concept. It enables maximum
cable lengths and highest number of devices, which can be installed or
maintained while the system is energized.
The T-connector for the trunk enables exchange and modification of one
Segment Protector without effecting other parts of the same fieldbus
segment. All connectors feature retaining screws and receptacles for
measuring tools such as the mobile Advanced Diagnostic Module. The
Segment Protector supports all user choices for grounding and shielding.
