There are 2 courses that are being held back to back during the week of September 19-22, 2022 in Austin, Texas.

  1. HART Fundamentals (September 19)
  2. Device Integration - Writing EDD and FDI Package Workshop (September 20-22)

You may sign up for one or both. For novices, it is recommended to participate in both. 

Registration is open until 14 days prior to the workshop or the course is sold out, which ever occurs first. 

Pre-Requisites

These courses require the HART Protocol Technical Overview eLearning course to be successfully completed prior to attending this HART Fundamentals workshop.  Students will receive eLearning information upon registration.  The eLearning course fee is included in the workshop student fee.

HART Fundamentals

HART Fundamentals Workshop is an intensive one-day course covering all aspects of the HART Communication Protocol. Students attending this course will leave equipped with knowledge to develop new HART-compatible products, support existing products, and design systems that utilize HART.

Students will also learn about the correct ways to test their device and register it with the FieldComm Group. Protocol specifications, common development strategies, and testing requirements are covered. Tools are provided to assist in product development or system integration.

This course is specifically for product developers and system integrators. Attendees will receive 14 Professional Development Hours (PDH) to apply towards their continuing education requirements.

Device Integration - Writing EDD and FDI Package Workshop

This comprehensive, advanced course provides a one-on-one instructional environment where developers learn the step-by-step process for building a Device Description and FDI Package that can be used across all EDD or FDI enabled host platforms.

The course uses a lecture/lab structure to provide a thorough understanding of the EDD and FDI Package.  By the end of the course, all attendees develop an EDD and FDI Package using the FDI Package Integrated Development Environment (IDE).  During lab time, the instructor provides one-on-one assistance to the attendee as they develop their EDD and FDI Package.  All attendees receive the tools needed for real-world EDD and FDI Package development, testing and registration with the FieldComm Group.
